Registration is now open for the 2012 Ontario Coaches Conference.  The York Region Athletic Association (YRAA) is hosting and we wanted to ask if you would please pass along this information to your Association's membership.  It is open to anyone who is interested so that means registrants do not need to be a teacher or affiliated with OFSAA.

Hopefully many coaches will take advantage of the NCCP and course offerings being presented by experts from across Ontario and Canada.  A list of course offerings and presenters is available through the link in this email as well as through the link on the yraa.com homepage.

Financial support is available to all teachers attending through our unions, ($100 through OSSTF conference funding, and PDT money through OECTA) as well as through Quest For Gold funding from the provincial government.

If registrants have any questions regarding conference fees or the conference agenda they can call the Coaching Association at 416-426-7086.

Please note:

1)      One document contains the motions being put forward and one provides a summary of the differences between Federation and FIBA rules
2)      Motion#2 would use the same rules as listed in the chart with the exception that a shot clock would not be used
3)      Motion#1 (FIBA with shot clocks) would not be implemented until September 2013, Motion#2 (FIBA without shot clocks) would be implemented September 2012
4)      OFSAA has contacted several companies regarding shot clock pricing.  Costs for shot clocks range from approximately $1000 and up for portable and wall mounted shot clocks and $600 and up for table top options.  Other options may be available beyond the initial estimates provided.
